Several of the vehicles were impacted near East 163rd Street, including two cars positioned in front of a nearby school. One vehicle was pushed into a light pole, while another overturned onto its side. Farther along the route, an SUV was forced onto the sidewalk, and another vehicle sustained heavy rear-end damage.

Video footage recorded from inside the bus shows passengers reacting with alarm as the bus continued moving and collided with vehicles along the roadway.
Investigation Ongoing
Authorities are continuing to investigate what led to the loss of control. The MTA and local law enforcement are reviewing whether mechanical issues, environmental factors, or a medical condition involving the driver may have played a role.
According to information provided to local media outlet WABC, the bus was traveling uphill when the driver pressed the accelerator and experienced a possible mechanical malfunction. Officials are also examining whether the emergency brake was engaged before the bus came to a stop.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no official determination has been made regarding the cause of the incident.
